Well, it is official, we are homeschooling! I'm excited and a little nervous of course, but so far so good. This first week has been low key as we are just starting out and figuring out what our routine will be. the kids have been working hard on math and grammar workbooks, we've also done some science, plenty of reading and yesterday I painted a chalkboard wall! I guess today is art...
The kids have loved going to school in their pajamas and choosing the order in which they do their subjects. I'm just enjoying spending the time with them and really getting to know each of their learning styles.
I've also starting getting up a little earlier and taking the dogs for a morning walk by myself. I am finding this time wonderful (and cold) but the crisp morning air allows me to wake up and start thinking about the day before we really begin. Though I must admit losing the chaos of getting ready and out the door on time for school is the biggest joy by far!
check back often and feel free to leave comments or suggestions as we embark on this journey.
Good for you. I have great admiration for people who take on this important job! I'll be watching with interest. You might check out The Pioneer Woman - she has a homeschooling section I've enjoyed. www.mainelyhome.blogspot.com
