Out and About

Just a little glimpse of our week of out and about...
We went to see some friends on their little homestead about 25 minutes away.  It amazes me that we can live so close to each other and go far to long without getting together more often than we do.  There is a bit of an age difference with the kids but they don't seem to mind.  Molly built a little village near their wood pile while Corey happily chased chickens and enjoyed his own little catch and release program.
Oh yes, the chickens came into the house..
We went to the museum of art at Bowdoin College.

We goofed around a bit getting some errands done

There was much digging for fossils and precious jems.

And finally a little hunkering down as we get ready for yet another snow storm...
Hoping now to get a little cleaning up done so I can justify starting in on a few new craft ideas that are brewing in my mind...
What have you been up to?

  1. I just got a magazine, MaryJanesFarms, about making chicken nappies so the chickens can stay in the house all the time. I don't think that is something I am going to be making! How much fun to look for fossils. Stay warm.

  2. So much fun! Friends of ours tell us that chickens are terrifying...and yet I see all these kids happily carrying chickens around...Maybe the chickens they experienced were terrified themselves!

Looking forward to seeing your new projects. I'm trying to tear myself away from the knitting to do some sewing...it doesn't seem to be working.

  4. What a wonderful time!! One beautiful thing we have learned is that age lines go undefined when playing with other homeschoolers. My 6 year old can play with 9 and 10 year olds and my 8 year old can play with 13 and 16 year olds. It's really amazing to witness :). Have a lovely weekend!!

  6. Most be nice to have your own chickens and egg their eggs. I had a buddy that had a pet chicken but he eventually ate the chicken. Poor chicken.
